Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bertrand, Nebraska
The purpose of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Westlanda Mission Fund is to support, fund, and further the ministry that God has called Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church to do.
Immanuel’s original church, built 3 miles north of Bertrand, was named Westlanda. We chose the name for our mission fund to honor our roots and the generations of congregational members that supported our mission.
A portion of the Westlanda Mission Fund is designated to local community projects. Such outreach projects shall include: Fire, Police, Emergency EMT squad; Library; Hospital; Nursing Home; Community Centers; Recreational Programs and Facilities; Food Pantries; Charity Clothing Organizations; and Individuals, Agencies and Institutions to which this congregation relates that care for the spiritual or economic needs of individuals.
Our congregation establishes an annual budget in January. Applications are reviewed as they are received. You are invited to increase Immanuel’s impact in ministry and outreach programs. Please feel free to contact our office for an application.
Our first grant, approved in 2025 and partnering with the Bertrand Area Community Fund, was to the Bertrand Nursing Home for a new air conditioning unit. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve our seniors.
